Abstract：Jane Austen and Emily Brontë, two of the greatest English female novelists in the 19th century, make a great contribution to the development of the English novel. They lived a short life but made a loud voice against the traditional view on female in their era. They are adept to create love story to convey the opinions towards love. Jane Austen creates lots of minded female roles to express her pursuit of true love; the heroine Elizabeth of Pride and Prejudice is a good example. Emily Brontë also manifests her ideal love in her only novel Wuthering Heights. 

This thesis gives a further interpretation of the images of Elizabeth Bennett and Catherine Earnshaw and strives to find out the difference and similarity between Jane Austen’s and Emily Brontë’s marriage views. What is more, the thesis points out female consciousness reflected in two novelists’ lives and works.

《傲慢与偏见》与《呼啸山庄》女主人公的比较研究——浅析简·奥斯丁与艾米莉·勃朗特的婚姻观和女性意识

摘 要：作为19世纪时期著名的英国女小说家，简·奥斯丁与艾米莉·勃朗特对英国小说的发展做出了杰出的贡献。在其短暂的生命中，她们通过写作批判当时传统社会对女性的看法。两位女作家都善于写爱情故事。简·奥斯丁创造了许多女性形象以此来传达她对美好爱情的追求，《傲慢与偏见》的女主人公就是一个很好的例子；艾米莉·勃朗特也在她唯一的一部小说《呼啸山庄》中展示了她对理想爱情的看法。

本文将对比分析两部小说女主人公伊丽莎白·班内特和凯瑟琳·肖恩的人物形象，并试图找出简·奥斯丁和艾米莉·勃朗特婚姻观的差异与女性意识在其生平与作品中的体现。
