Abstract：British writer J. K. Rowling created Harry Potter on the basis of British traditional culture, which led to not only studies on British traditional culture, but also an injection of vitality into the contemporary literature. 

According to Archetypal Criticism, represented by James George Frazer and Carl Gustav Jung, many characters and images in European novels can find their archetypes in Hebrew Culture and Hellenism. As we all know, British culture is deeply rooted in these two vital ancient cultures, which are helpful in enriching contents of novels and playing extraordinary roles in promotion of plots. Taking J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter as an example, this paper is meant to revealing cultural images in Harry Potter, discussing how the author combines the literary works with cultures, and studying why the employment of cultural elements is becoming a tendency in literary creation.

Because the Bible and Archetypal Criticism are independent fields for investigation if studied separately, this paper is still limited to some finite perspectives to talk about the reenchantment of Hebrew Culture and Hellenism in Contemporary Literature.

摘  要

英国作家J. K. 罗琳在英国传统文化的基础上创作了《哈利·波特》系列小说，这部小说不仅引发了一场研究英国传统文化的热潮，也为当代文学的发展注入了活力。

以詹姆斯·弗雷泽和卡尔·古斯塔夫·荣格为代表的原型理论认为，许多欧洲小说中的人和物都可以在古希腊和希伯来文化（即两希文化）中找到其原型。众所周知，英国文化源于两希文化，两希文化在丰富小说内容和推动情节发展上起了重要作用。以《哈利·波特》系列小说为例，本文将分析小说中出现的文化意象，探讨作者是如何把文学作品与传统文化巧妙结合，以及研究文化元素在文学中的应用成为一种趋势的原因。

由于《圣经》和原型批评理论原本就是两门需要深入探索的独立学科，因此本文仅从几个视角浅谈两希文化的复兴。
