Abstract :In China, English learning begins in the first grade instead of third grade as it did in the past. Interest in the quality and effectiveness of teacher talk, a key tool in organizing and teaching the target language, has been raised in recent years. This paper tries to illustrate instructions and feedback on teacher talk used by a group of primary school teacher in grade one. Effective instruction and feedback can encourage the use of the target language in social situation. However, ineffective instructions and feedback lead to the opposite condition. Participants in this study will be the teachers and learners from the private primary Foreign Language School and data was gathered through classroom observation. All lessons were transcribed and the analysis of the transcripts reveals that there are some problems existing in instructions and feedback, which is not good for second language acquisition. These results are vital as both instructions and feedback in primary school are supposed to be concise, simple and standardized and they provide some suggestions for pedagogical consideration. At the end, this study gives the teaching implication and limitations for further study.

小学英语教师课堂语言分析

摘要:在中国,学生们逐渐从原来的小学三年级提早到小学一年级甚至更早开始学习英语。随着这个趋势的发展,英语课堂语言的质量性和有效性受到的关注也日益增多。本研究对小学英语教师课堂语言的重要组成部分——课堂指示语和反馈语进行实证研究。教师指示语,作为组织课堂教学,维持课堂纪律的工具,在以英语为媒介的小学英语课堂上发挥者极其重要的作用。有效的课堂指示用语和反馈语能够充分激活学生对英语兴趣和学习积极性,而无效的课堂指示用语和反馈语会降低教学效果,挫伤学生的学习积极性和学习热情。本次研究通过分析课堂录音,采取课堂观察法和课后观察,对杭州某私立外国语小学英语课堂的教师指示语和反馈语进行研究,分析教师课堂用语的特点和存在的问题并提出了本研究对指示用语和反馈语对课堂教学的启示和局限性。
