Abstract：With the deepening of cultural exchanges between China and English speaking countries, film and television works have a great impact on people’s lives as an important medium of cultural communication. Ecological translation is a new trend of thought developed in translation theory in recent years, which can be understood as an ecological approach to translation studies. At present, the study of translation practice from the perspective of ecological translation has become a new direction in translation theory. The emergence of ecological translation theory provides a new perspective for subtitle translation of English film and television works. Taking the subtitle translation of the popular film Coco as an example, this paper studies the relationship between the translator and the translation ecological environment and analyzes the application of ecological translation in film subtitle translation.

摘要：随着我国与英语国家文化交流的深入，影视作品作为一种重要的文化传播媒介，极大影响着人们的生活。生态翻译学是翻译理论研究近几年发展起来的新思潮，可以理解为一种生态学途径的翻译研究。当前，从生态翻译学角度进行的翻译实践活动研究，已成为翻译理论研究中的一个新方向。生态翻译学理论的出现，为英语影视作品的字幕翻译提供了一个新视角。本课题以热播电影《寻梦环游记》的字幕翻译为例，研究译者与翻译生态环境的相互关系，分析生态翻译学在电影字幕翻译中的应用。

1. Introduction
Ecological translation is a new trend of thought developed in translation theory in recent years. It can be understood as an ecological approach to translation studies. Translation process is an alternate cycle of adaptation and selection of the translator. At present, the study of translation practice from the perspective of ecological translation has become a new direction in translation theory. With the deepening of cultural exchanges between China and English speaking countries, film and television works, as an important medium of cultural communication, have a great impact on people’s lives.
On the one hand, with the development of international communication, many Chinese films go to the international market, and a large number of European and American films pour into the domestic market. People are learning the language and culture of the country as well as watching films. At the same time, subtitle translation takes an important responsibility, because only if the translation is easily understood the audience can learn better.
On the other hand, since the audience comes from all walks of life and has different educational levels and aesthetic feelings, the subtitle level of translation must be in line with the actual level of the audience. Strive to both elegant and common appreciation of the target language, but also appropriate expression of the meaning of the original text.
The emergence of ecological translation provides a new perspective for the subtitle translation of English film and television works. The relationship between foreign cultural differences and language ideographic is well handled with ecological translation, and the character of the works is the starting point and the integration of translation from the perspective of language, culture and communication, so that the translator and the works can be fused. To balance and complete the adaptation and transformation of the ecological environment and at the same time promote cultural integration and communication. This thesis attempts to explore the translation of English film subtitles from the perspective of ecological translation, and to test whether the translation of English film subtitles can achieve the adaptive selection conversion among linguistic dimension, cultural dimension and communicative dimension.
