In china, there are many literatures that analyze symbolism between The Scarlet Letter and A Dream in Red Mansions. And most of them like to analyze symbolism in these two books in detail. For example, one of them thinks that daughter “Pearl”, letter “A” and actions of clergy are three important symbols through the whole novel(Chen Louxi, 2009:160). And it thinks Hester returns good for evil, which embodies kindness and redemption of religion.(2009:160) Other literature thinks symbolism of images has everlasting value(Yu Xiaohong, 2003:122).
