1. Introduction
1.1 Research background
The development of the world is getting faster and faster, and the ability of the inpiduality has been unable to meet the needs of the society. So in this background, we emphasize the importance of cooperation. The purpose of education is to cultivate the person who adapts to the society. So in the process of education, it is necessary to cultivate the ability of cooperation and communication. As one of the most common languages in the world, the process of learning English needs to embody the consciousness of cooperation and communication. Junior middle school English learning is an important stage for students to learn English. Under the background of the new period, cooperation and communication have become the important content of junior middle school English teaching.
In The Outline of the Reform of Basic Education Curriculum, the Ministry of education points out that the aim of education reform is to cultivate students' ability to cooperate and communicate. Therefore, cooperative learning is an important learning strategy in the education reform, and it is the mainstream teaching theory. The goal of educational reform is to change the traditional mode of educational inculcation from imparting knowledge to cultivating students' learning habits and emotional values. This is also a new requirement for teachers. Teacher’s role should shift from the traditional authority to an equal partner, such as from the “judge”,”director” to ”consultant”. Group cooperative learning is to reconstruct inpidual knowledge through students’ cooperation and the help of teachers to complete the learning of knowledge and transmission of values.
The new Curriculum Standards describes the overall language ability involves the following four aspects, knowledge and skills, process and method, attitude and values, behavior and innovation. Among these, learning strategies play a significance role in English teaching and learning. The difference between English learning and other subjects is that English is a language with four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, and students can not master it through a lot of exercises. At the same time, a large number of single grammatical training and vocabulary recitation will make the energetic junior middle school students feel tired of English learning. English learning needs to be based on a certain context. Under this condition, students can communicate with English in daily learning. Meanwhile, teachers need to change the past teaching strategies and constantly stimulate students' interests in English learning.
