钢铁是怎样炼成的英文读后感
Title: How should people live?
Thought after reading How the Steel was Tempered. Man's dearest possession is life. It is given to him but once, and he must live it so as to feel no torturing regrets for wasted years, never know the burning shame of a mean and petty past; so live that, dying, he might say: all my life, all my strength were given to the finest cause in all the world──the fight for the Liberation of Mankind.-Ostrovsky
Recently, read "How to Make Steel" a book, feeling deep How should people live is always a question been asked by people. After reading the book, I have found the answer from the book.
The author of the book-Ostrovsky was born in a poor family, he was suffered by various of illness and became a disability. However, he did not lose his hope, he regarded pen as a weapon, writing as his job, and believe that human can not live in the world without doing anything. Finally, he finished the book in a very difficult environment.
The hero of the book Paul Kecha is a portrait of the author himself, his father was dead when he was young, his mother is cooking and washing for people. His mother sent him to work when he was twelve years old. Not long after, he lost the sight of both eyes, but he still step forward to his dream and finally he got success. Paul has left a deep impression on my mind, and thousands and thousands of people around the world were affected and encouraged by Paul’s story. The same situation and fate as the author, but he did not believe the fate and never give up his dream.
While I was reading the book, I was shocked by his belief, I can see his face is in front of me. Paul, a normal soldier, but with a constancy of purpose. What kind of power can encourage him seek dream? In his mind, there is always a solid belief, Communism, which give him power and confident to face the challenges
From Paul’s story, I have learned how to face to the illness, and the attitude when facing the challenges. We should learn the attitude from Paul of he will never give up his dream, and work hard to make dream comes true. The things he can do, I can do it either, because compared with Paul, I am living in a good environment, I have good teacher, and good parents, so I will not be beaten by difficulties. Every time when I met difficulties, I will remember Paul, his attitude can encourage me all the time, he can give me power and confident to face any difficulties. Now I believe myself, I will become a very success person in the future, and I will study very hard for this dream. Just like Paul said in the book: Man's dearest possession is life. It is given to him but once, and he must live it so as to feel no torturing regrets for wasted years, never know the burning shame of a mean and petty past.
